Kamuro Karukayado is located within Saikoji Temple in Hashimoto, Wakayama. It's about a 10-minute walk from Gakubunro Station on the Nankai Koya Line. The temple is known for its enshrined mermaid mummy and the story of Karukaya Doshin and Ishidomaru. The story tells of a father and son who meet but do not recognize each other, highlighting themes of family and sacrifice. The temple also features the grave of Senri no Mae, the mother in the story, adding to its poignant atmosphere. The site was restored in 1992 by local residents.
