Visitors can explore the serene grounds and admire the traditional architecture. The shrine is known for its association with the deity Tamanooya no Mikoto, the ancestor of those who crafted jewels, and is said to be where he brought a special fowl after the event of Amaterasu's hiding in the rock cave.
