Myōjōzan Akechi Temple, the Ninth Pilgrimage Site of the Chichibu Kannon Pilgrimage, was founded in 1191 by Zen Master Akechi. The hexagonal Kannon-do hall, rebuilt in 1990, enshrines the Nyoirin Kannon, known for bestowing blessings of fortune, wisdom, and healing of eye ailments. The temple is easily accessible, a short walk from Yokose Station on the Chichibu Railway Line. The grounds feature a nurturing Kosodate Kannon statue, offering blessings for safe childbirth and child-rearing, making it a popular destination for women. The open-air temple offers a serene atmosphere, though the view includes a nearby cement factory. Visitors can park directly on the temple grounds.
