The Ono Headworks on the Ure River, completed in 1961, is notable for its gravity concrete weir and strikingly unbalanced gate room. As a crucial water source for the Toyokawa Canal in eastern Aichi Prefecture, it's fed by the Ure Dam and Oshima Dam upstream, as well as water diverted from various locations into the Ure River. This point serves as the origin for the Toyokawa Canal, which distributes water as far as Hatsudachi Pond on the tip of the Atsumi Peninsula using only natural flow—a remarkable feat of engineering. Visitors can obtain dam cards for both the Ono Headworks and the Kanzagawa Weir/Headworks at the management office on the left bank of the Ono Headworks. Note that a photo is required to receive the Kanzagawa Weir/Headworks dam card. Located in Aichi Prefecture, it is accessible approximately 8 km from Shinshiro IC on the Shin-Tomei Expressway.
