Explore the Honjo Castle Ruins, also known as Ozaki Castle or Tsurumai Castle, which once served as the residence of the Rokugo clan during the Edo period. Today, the site is a serene parkland renowned for its cherry blossoms and azaleas. While remnants of the original castle are scarce, visitors can experience the atmosphere of the castle grounds on the elevated area where the main enclosure once stood. The park also features a reconstructed castle gate and a statue honoring Saitō Yatarō, who preserved the site. Located just a 10-minute walk from Ugo-Honjo Station, the ruins offer pleasant views of Yurihonjo city. Visit the Shushinkan within the park to see a model of the castle.
