Located about 2.3 km northwest of JR Omihachiman Station, Himure Hachimangu Shrine is nestled at the southern foot of Mt. Hachiman. Dedicated to three deities, it's the main shrine of the former Hachiman town. Founded in the Heian period, it features a vast precinct with lush trees, a towering main gate, and the main hall. Don't miss the "Annan Tokaisen Gaku" (a votive tablet depicting a ship to Annan), donated by a merchant who traded overseas in the Edo period. The shrine hosts the Sagicho Festival in March and the Hachiman Festival in April, both vibrant fire festivals. Easily accessible by bus from Omihachiman Station, it's a must-see for those exploring Omihachiman.
