Chōhō-ji Temple, located in Kainan City, Wakayama Prefecture, is a historic site with three National Treasure-designated structures: the Main Hall, the Two-Storied Pagoda, and the Main Gate. This temple is also the family temple of the Kishu Tokugawa clan, housing the graves of 15 generations (excluding Yoshimune and Yoshitomi). Visitors can explore the serene grounds and admire the exquisite architecture. It's accessible via a 25-minute walk or a short taxi ride from Shimozu Station, and a 15-minute drive from Kainan IC. Guided tours are available for groups up to 200 people with advance reservation, between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Admission is ¥300 per adult, with group tours costing ¥3000.
