The Joetsu City Archaeological Center, located at the foot of Kasugayama Castle, offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into the history of the Joetsu region and the life of Uesugi Kenshin. This free museum features exhibits of excavated artifacts, models of Kasugayama Castle, and informative panels detailing the battles of Kawanakajima. Don't miss the impressive Uesugi Kenshin equestrian statue outside. It's an excellent starting point for exploring the Kasugayama Castle ruins and learning about the area's rich cultural heritage. Open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but closed on Tuesdays and during the New Year holidays.
