Honjo Park, located a 10-minute walk from JR Ugo-Honjo Station, is the former site of Honjo Castle, built by Honjo Buzen-no-kami Mitsushige. Today, it's a serene park known for its beautiful display of 1,000 cherry trees and 10,000 azaleas, making spring the best time to visit. The park offers a pleasant atmosphere for relaxation and strolls, with remnants of the castle's layout still visible. Visitors can also explore Honjo Shrine and the Shushinkan (historical museum) within the park. The park is located next to the Yurihonjo City Hall. The park is a great place for a relaxing stroll and enjoying the seasonal flowers.
