Takata-Matsubara Beach, located in Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture, is a revitalized coastal area with a poignant history. Severely impacted by the 2011 tsunami, the beach has undergone significant restoration efforts, including a sand regeneration project. Visitors can now enjoy a 1km stretch of sandy shoreline. The area also features a memorial park and the iconic Miracle Pine, a symbol of resilience. While the beach was closed for a period, it reopened in the summer of 2021 and is expected to welcome visitors again during the summer months.
