The Taisho Era Museum in Gifu's Akechi Town is dedicated to preserving the Taisho period (1912-1926). It features exhibits about Emperor Taisho and recreations of typical Taisho-era homes with everyday items. Special exhibits are held several times a year, showcasing aspects of life during that time. Don't miss the retro posters and the old-fashioned newspaper printing machine. Adjacent to the museum is Cafe Tenkyu, a charming coffee shop that recreates the atmosphere of a Kyoto cafe popular with intellectuals in the late Taisho and early Showa periods. It's easily accessible from Akechi Station and other Taisho Village attractions.
