The Ikaho Sekisho is a reconstructed checkpoint that once controlled traffic on the Mikuni Kaido's back roads during the Edo period. Located near the bottom of Ikaho's famous stone steps, it's a free attraction offering a glimpse into the past with displays of period artifacts, including interrogation stones and armor. Visitors can explore the reconstructed buildings and learn about the checkpoint's role in monitoring travelers, especially women. It's conveniently located near the Hawaii Kingdom Minister's Villa, making it easy to combine both attractions. Open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (April-October) and 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM (November-March), closed on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month. A quick visit is best suited when exploring the stone steps.
