Omonogawa River

Overview

The Omonogawa River, also known as the Omono River, originates in Higashinaruse Village, Akita Prefecture, and flows through the Akita Plain into the Sea of Japan. Located in Daisen, Akita, it's accessible by bus from Omagari Station. The river is known for hosting the Omagari Fireworks Competition every August, a major event drawing large crowds. The river offers scenic views and a tranquil atmosphere, especially during winter. The riverbanks are also a place where the Donten festival is held, where people cross the river carrying portable shrines.
