Seiryuji Temple, also known as Monju-in, is one of Japan's three great Monju temples, revered as "Monju of the Brush" for success in academics and the arts. Pilgrims visit from all over to pray for achievement. The temple has historical ties to the eminent monk Tenkai, who served Tokugawa Ieyasu and his successors. Located near Isasumi Shrine in Aizumisato, Fukushima, it's a 20-minute walk from Aizu-Takada Station on the JR Tadami Line or a 15-minute drive from Niitsuru Smart IC (ETC only). The annual festival is held every February 25th. The temple was founded in 1339.
