Explore the Hida Great Limestone Cave, an 800-meter natural wonder known for its colorful stalactites and rare helictites, found only here in Japan. Designated as a Lover's Sanctuary in 2017, the cave maintains a cool 10°C temperature inside, making it a refreshing escape. The initial 100 meters are particularly stunning with numerous small stalactites. Choose from three exit points, with the longest route (Exit 3) including ladders and stairs, leading to a 100-step descent to the parking area. Located a 30-minute bus ride from Takayama Station, the cave offers accessible facilities including wheelchair rentals and accessible restrooms. Open from 8:00 to 17:00 between April and October, and from 9:00 to 16:00 between November and March, it's a year-round destination.
