Ugajin-do Hall, located near Sazae-do Hall on Mount Iimori in Aizuwakamatsu, is a small but historically significant temple. Originally built in the late 17th century, it is dedicated to Ugajin, the god of harvests. The hall is also a memorial to the Byakkotai, a group of young samurai who committed suicide during the Boshin War. Inside, you'll find statues of the Byakkotai soldiers in French-style military uniforms and a photograph of the sole survivor, Iinuma Sadakichi. The hall offers a poignant glimpse into the region's history and is easily accessible while visiting Sazae-do. Best to visit during the afternoon. You can get the temple stamp (Goshuin) at the souvenir shop next door.
