Myogi Shrine Main Hall and Heiden

Overview

Myogi Shrine's Main Hall and Heiden, located in Tomioka, Gunma Prefecture, are architectural treasures well worth the climb. After passing through the grand Ōsō Gate and ascending steep stone steps, visitors are rewarded with the sight of the ornately carved Honden (Main Hall) and Heiden (Offering Hall). Designated as Important Cultural Properties, these structures feature vibrant sculptures on their pillars and beams. Be aware that the approach involves a challenging climb, but the impressive architecture and serene atmosphere make it a rewarding experience.
