Located in Imai-cho, Kashihara, the Kawai House, also known as the Ubonji-ya brewery, is a historic sake brewery with over 200 years of history. Easily recognizable by the sugidama (cedar ball) hanging from its eaves, this well-preserved building features beautiful Yamato lattice windows and a robust, traditional design. Visitors can explore the first floor for a small fee, with reservations required for a tour of both floors. The brewery is a 5-minute walk from Yagi-nishiguchi Station. It offers a glimpse into sake production and the lifestyle of a merchant family during the Edo period.
