Pink & Yellow Hillside

Yūkanosato Sakura Park in Kamiyama, Tokushima, transforms into a breathtaking sea of pink and yellow each spring, with over 500 weeping cherry trees and 1,500 forsythias adorning the hillside. This scenic spot, once a sudachi orchard, was converted into a cherry blossom haven beginning in 2008, and now features the locally developed 'Kamiyama weeping cherry' variety, officially recognized in 2021. The optimal viewing period spans from late March to early April, during which a local sakura festival is held. While access is primarily by car, the park offers free parking and local food stalls during the blooming season. It's a hidden gem for those seeking a tranquil and colorful hanami experience.
