Fuji Snowmelt Ponds
Oshino Hakkai, meaning "Eight Seas of Oshino," is a collection of eight pristine spring-fed ponds in Oshino Village, Yamanashi Prefecture. Formed by snowmelt from Mount Fuji filtering through volcanic rock over decades, these ponds are celebrated for their crystal-clear waters and tranquil beauty. Designated as a Natural Monument and part of the Mount Fuji UNESCO World Heritage Site, the area offers stunning views of Mount Fuji, especially when reflected in the ponds.
