Huge Shrine Complex

Miyajidake Shrine, located in Fukutsu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is a historic Shinto shrine dedicated to Empress Jingu, dating back over 1,700 years. The shrine is renowned for its impressive "Three Best in Japan": a five-ton sacred straw rope (shimenawa), a giant taiko drum with a 2.2-meter diameter, and a 450-kilogram copper bell. A unique feature of the shrine is the "Path of Light," where the sun aligns perfectly with the main approach twice a year, creating a striking visual effect. Visitors can also explore eight smaller shrines within the grounds, each associated with different blessings, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area.
