Early Spring Blossoms
Kawazu Sakura Namiki is a 4-kilometer stretch of early-blooming cherry trees lining the Kawazu River in Kawazu Town, Shizuoka. With over 850 Kawazu-zakura trees, the area bursts into vivid pink from early February to early March—much earlier than typical cherry blossom season. The annual Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival attracts thousands of visitors with food stalls, riverside walks, and evening light-ups. Easy to access from Kawazu Station, it's a beloved early-spring highlight where pink blossoms contrast beautifully with yellow rapeseed flowers and the gentle flow of the river.
