River Blossoms

In Koriyama City's Kikuta district, the Fujita River transforms into a picturesque cherry blossom corridor each spring. Approximately 500 Somei Yoshino trees line a 3-kilometer stretch along both riverbanks, centered around Horinouchi Bridge near Kikuta Station. Planted in 1959 to commemorate the wedding of Emperor Emeritus Akihito, these trees create a stunning tunnel of blossoms. Evening illuminations enhance the experience, casting a magical glow over the river.
