Maple Temple

Matsudo is home to the Hondo-ji Temple, often called the "Hydrangea Temple," which transforms into a vivid display of red and yellow during autumn, with around 1,000 maples decorating its grounds. Highlights include the five-story pagoda, Niomon Gate, and scenic corridors interwoven with colorful foliage. The maples, including mountain and Akiyama varieties, peak from mid-November, adding to the temple's serene and picturesque atmosphere.
