Rural Kyoto

Miyama, located 30 kilometers north of Kyoto, is a rural area renowned for its traditional thatched-roof farmhouses (kayabuki), offering an authentic glimpse into Japan's countryside. The highlight is Kayabuki no Sato, a village with nearly 40 thatched-roof homes, many still used as private residences.
