Dragon's Palace

Situated at an elevation of 900 meters, the Hida Great Limestone Cave is Japan’s highest tourist-accessible limestone cavern, formed approximately 250 million years ago. Visitors can explore 800 meters of illuminated tunnels adorned with rare helictites—stalactites that twist in various directions—and marvel at features like the "Nightscape of the Dragon’s Palace" and the "Moon World". The cave maintains a constant temperature of 12°C, offering a cool retreat during warmer months.
