Garden Pinnacle

The Adachi Museum of Art in Yasugi, Shimane Prefecture, is renowned for seamlessly blending modern Japanese art with meticulously curated gardens. Founded in 1970 by local entrepreneur Adachi Zenko, the museum houses an extensive collection of 20th-century Nihonga paintings, including over 120 works by Yokoyama Taikan, as well as ceramics by Kitaoji Rosanjin. Its six gardens, encompassing 165,000 square meters, have been ranked Japan’s best for over two decades, offering seasonal landscapes viewed from within the museum.
