Cypress Forest

At Akazawa Natural Recreation Forest, known as one of Japan's three most beautiful forests, visitors can enjoy autumn leaves contrasting with the deep green cypress trees. Activities include riding an open-top trolley through the colorful forest and walking the Fureai-no-michi, a 1.5-kilometer barrier-free boardwalk. Peak foliage season is mid- to late October, offering views of red rhododendrons and golden oaks. Note: 35 min taxi ride from closest station.
