Fukiware Falls in Numata, Gunma Prefecture, is a striking 7-meter-high and 30-meter-wide waterfall, often dubbed the "Niagara of the East." Formed over thousands of years by the Katashina River eroding volcanic tuff, the falls create a dramatic V-shaped gorge. A scenic walking trail offers views of unique rock formations like Hannya-iwa and Byobu-iwa, as well as potholes carved by swirling waters. Downstream, Masutobi Falls stands at 15 meters high and 6 meters wide, named after trout that once leapt here during spawning season. The area is especially popular in spring and autumn for its lush greenery and vibrant foliage
