Manga Road

Himi, a coastal town in Toyama Prefecture, is the birthplace of manga artist Fujiko Fujio, co-creator of classics like Ninja Hattori-kun, Kaibutsu-kun, and The Laughing Salesman. The Himi City Shiokaze Gallery celebrates his legacy with original artwork, character statues, and a recreation of his Tokiwa-sō studio room. Visitors can also explore the surrounding “Manga Road,” where sculptures and murals bring his characters to life throughout the town. For fans of classic manga and anime history, Himi offers a nostalgic and immersive experience.
