Haebaru, a town in Okinawa Prefecture, holds a special place in the history of Japanese tokusatsu as the hometown of Tetsuo Kinjo, the visionary screenwriter behind the original Ultraman, Ultra Q, and Ultraseven series. Kinjo's experiences growing up in Okinawa deeply influenced the themes of his work, infusing the Ultra Series with reflections on war, identity, and humanity.
